2022 Clothing Swap!
(By Donation)
A fundraiser for Resilient Neighborhoods
When: Saturday, October 15, 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Tickets: Tax Deductible Donation of $1-$100 (or more) requested. All donations will be MATCHED dollar for dollar by our hosts, up to $500. No one turned away for lack of funds.
What:
Where: Event takes place OUTSIDE in the garden of a private home in San Rafael. Address will be distributed to guests. Plenty of street parking.
Why: The clothing and textiles industry is the SECOND most polluting industry in the world. It consumes lots of water and energy, exploits labor, and creates massive pollution at every step from fields to factories. By reducing the amount of clothing you purchase new and recycling gently worn clothing for others to enjoy, you can reduce your carbon footprint, save money and resources, and enjoy new items in your wardrobe every season.
This will be a COVID-safe, outdoor event with mandatory face masks. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. Hand sanitizer and extra face masks available.
People of any gender or non-gender, all sizes and all ages are included and welcome. We will have a semi-private area for trying on clothing.
