Come catch up on what the Resilient Neighborhoods community has done this past year at Party for a Cooler Planet, our annual fundraising event, on Sunday, October 25th. We'll gather at a location in Corte Madera for an afternoon of delicious food and drinks, live music, inspiring stories, and meaningful connections with fellow climate champions.

Dgiin, our musical offering for the afternoon, captivates with an irresistible fusion of French chanson, Roma hot jazz, flamenco guitar, and New Orleans swing. Twice voted the North Bay's Best Band, Dgiin weaves violin, guitar, saxophone, and soaring vocals into a fresh, unexpected sound. Out on the patio, they will help make this an afternoon to remember, whether you settle in to listen or find yourself dancing.

Event Speakers- Get Inspired!

Sarah D’Alexander brought her deep sustainability knowledge to her Climate Action Team, the Green Beings. She is a sustainability professional with an MBA from George Mason University, a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a love of nature sparked by childhood hikes through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. After managing large-scale sustainability initiatives and events for both her alma maters, she moved to Marin two years ago. Now a community sustainability leader, she chairs Corte Madera's Climate Action Committee and serves on the Board of Refugia Marin. An avid traveler, Sarah has visited 32 countries and enjoys hiking Marin's trails and spotting local wildlife.

Wendy Vived attended two Climate Action Workshops: she graduated from the Efficientistas Team in 2019 and returned to the Renewal Renegades last year to update her Climate Action Plan for her new home. Her experiences in the program inspired her to serve as a pro bono consultant to Resilient Neighborhoods, where she contributes expertise gained through 20 years modernizing learning platforms as an Enterprise Learning Executive with Fortune 500 companies (as well as her excitement and sense of possibility). She helps weave new learning technologies into the Climate Action Workshop to help staff expand their personal approach and reach more people as the program grows.

Renee Goddard is a grateful and proud member of her 2026 Climate Action Team, The Resilience, where she reduced 60% of her climate pollution and reached Eco-Star status! Renee is a passionate community leader focused on climate, plastics reduction and behavior change. Her commitment is rooted in a love of nature. A former whitewater river guide, she has explored remote rivers in Papua New Guinea, Zambia, and Borneo. Inspired by Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth in 2005, Renee launched the grassroots Inconvenient Group, became Zero Waste Coordinator for Sustainable Fairfax, led Marin County's first plastic bag ban, and served a decade on the Fairfax Town Council, twice as Mayor.
